RAW Wide Hemp Tips

A filter tip, also called a crutch, sits at the mouth end of a joint and gives it a firm structure to hold onto and draw through. It also helps stop loose herb from being pulled into your mouth as you smoke.

A plain filter tip is just rolled paper or card, offering structure but no added filtration. An activated carbon filter includes a small segment of activated carbon inside the tip, which actively traps tar and particulates from the smoke as it passes through.

Activated carbon is an extremely porous material with a huge internal surface area, and airborne particles stick to that surface as smoke passes through it. This adsorption process pulls out a portion of the tar and particulates that would otherwise reach your mouth and lungs.

It depends on the format. Simple paper-and-carbon tips are designed for single use and are discarded after one joint, while glass-encased filters can be cleaned out and reused many times, making them a more durable, longer-term option.

Many people find carbon filters give a smoother, cooler draw since some of the harsher particulates are filtered out before reaching your mouth. Filter quality varies, so a well-made carbon filter should still let air flow smoothly without feeling restricted.

Filter diameter needs to match your rolling papers so the joint holds together properly. Most of our filters are built to a slim, widely compatible size, but it's worth checking the exact diameter listed on each product page before ordering.

Roll the filter into a small accordion or spiral shape and place it at one end of your rolling paper before adding your ground herb. It acts as an anchor for your joint and gives you a sturdy end to hold and draw from.

Yes. Filter tips and activated carbon filters are ordinary smoking accessories and are legal to purchase and use across Europe. As always, what you choose to smoke with them is subject to your local laws, so check the regulations in your country or region if you're unsure.
